Vampire Facial

As confusing as it sounds, this nonsurgical skin rejuvenation procedure is actually quite straightforward - Your own blood, in the form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), is used to rejuvenate the appearance of facial tissue.

This is combined with yet another popular skin rejuvenation procedure called micro needling.

What is Micro-Needling?

In micro needling, multiple tiny needles are pressed in to the skin by using a device called dermapen to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This initiates the skin’s natural repair process to produce collagen. Micro-channels created by the treatment allow optimal absorption of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) applied on the skin, enhancing their effects in the deeper layers of skin.

Choosing the right device for micro - needling

Outcomes of micro needling vary based on the device, the depth of needle penetration, frequency of needle penetration, and the number of passes. So it is important that you choose the right device.

How is it done?

After a consultation with our doctor, our nurse will draw 8 ml (two teaspoons) of blood. This is similar to getting a blood testing done. In the meantime topical local anesthetic cream will be applied to the face for 20-30 minutes.

The PRP is then topically applied to the skin immediately following a micro-needling procedure with the dermapen. The micro-channels created by micro-needling provide direct pathways to the deeper layers of skin for optimal wound healing. Micro-needling with PRP application is an ideal treatment for smoothing fine lines, wrinkles, and any scars on the body including acne scars, open pores on the face and for increasing plumpness and overall rejuvenation of the skin.

The whole procedure usually takes about 1 hour.

What Are the Benefits of vampire facial?

One great benefit of PRP usage is that it is a completely natural procedure, since it uses your own blood. No injecting of foreign materials required! The result of Vampire facial is stunning. Some of them would be:

  • Increase in the natural production of collagen which is the building block for younger and healthier skin.
  • Revitalization of your skin
  • Rejuvenation of ageing skin
  • Treatment of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improving open pores and acne scars

Does the procedure hurt?

No, the treatment is made comfortable and painless when carried out under topical anesthetic cream applied for 20 to 30 minutes before the procedure.

How safe is the procedure?

Dermapen, the device used to do the needling process causes significantly less trauma and lesser skin damage. Dermapen has disposable needles which completely avoids the cross contamination.

Is vampire facial right for me?

To undergo vampire facial, you should be generally in good health and have realistic expectations of the outcome. Vampire facial can be done to almost anyone because it is a natural procedure with minimal side effects.

If you fit into any of the following categories, we recommend that you do not receive the treatment:

  • you are pregnant or lactating
  • you are on some blood thinner drugs
  • having any kind of platelet disorders
  • having autoimmune disease, such as lupus, cancer, or HIV
  • having chronic liver disease
  • having infection or sepsis

What post treatment care I should follow?

  • After the PRP application, do not wash your face until the next day (wait for a minimum of four hours; but a 24-hour wait is recommended)
  • Avoid being exposed to high temperatures or sweat for 24–48 hours following your PRP treatment (e.g. sauna, long hot showers, and vigorous exercise)
  • Avoid exposing your skin to the sun, and make sure you are using sunscreen lotion when you step outside
  • Avoid chemicals (e.g. swimming pools, medicated creams other than moisturizers and sunscreen)

How much downtime is required for procedure?

Vampire facial has become largely popular for two significant reasons - natural results and minimal downtime compared to other procedures. The entire procedure takes approximately one hour. And although there is minimal downtime with this treatment, you will be asked to make lifestyle adjustments for the next couple of days to avoid any reactions.

Can the treatment be repeated?

As far as vampire facial is concerned, some people are likely to achieve the best results from just one treatment. Others may require more treatments to achieve the same results.

Are there any side effects?

Except for slight swelling and redness of the face (which will go away a few days after the procedure), there are no major side- effects. PRP treatment uses your own blood that is rich in growth factors to treat ageing problems. Therefore, there is very little chance of your body rejecting the treatment.
